Yeah. I think there is. Like if you help somebody by accident or just without realizing you're already helping somebody (e.g., the person in front of you dropped something then you picked it up immediately and returned it). Or if you help somebody without expecting anything in return... that's a selfless good deed.

Yeah, I think there is - even though in most cases it's done for those we know. A selfless good deed is when one does something without expecting any reward. Yeah, small number of people do that once in a while.

I have problems with this myself as to be doing a good deed u must be doing something for someone elses benefit yet for it to be selfless does this mean you dont get any pleasure out of it.
As i have friends who get great pleasure out of helping people does this mean they are not doing it selflessly or are they being selfish in their own path to happiness as helping others is what makes them happy?
I think myself if you go out of your way to help someone and it mnakes their life that little better, possibly you had to miss a big game or drive a hundred miles to help them then we should considder that a selfless good deed as they have put their own needs on hold for others....

yes. i've often thought about this question after it being in the plot of a Friends episode. i found that when i thought about this question i'd often do NOTHING at all instead of doing something good for someone because i was afraid that i was going to do it for selfish reasons. at times i was also afraid of someone perceiving me as being selfish. this is not a good thing. doing something for someone and getting something(even if its just a feeling) in return is a lot better than disguising a deed in order to manipulate someone to serve yourself. there is a big difference!!! Just do what you think is right (its usually not the easy thing)

Yes, telling you to change the mean looking Avatar is selfless. I gain nothing by it and you will. (if you change it)
Why is it people choose to have an Avatar that is mean looking anyway.
Some of the faces make the person look like they are constipated !!!

Yes only if the recipient of the good deed doesn't know that it was you that did it.

Yes. A mother's love. A man laying down his life for his country. Letting somebody go who doesn't feel the same way about you. Answering your question in the hope it will help you!!!

yes. just the other day, i helped a woman in crisis. i got nothing for it, and i didn't do it for my own benefit. i was actually tired and didn't want to help. the thing is, i knew that if i didn't no one would.
