I disagree, i thought Beckham played well. but it's his decision, see how it goes. But its bad for Beckham though, he is certainly good enough to get into the squad. Maybe the manager wanted to develop the new players and build them for the future so he isnt putting out the current best team possible.

Agree, but its only a friendly!!! This is the perfect time to evaluate the English Squad, Terry's captaincy and possible new formations. I think McLarens made a wise decision but I doubt we've seen the last of Beckham!

Everyone has to move on. I always felt that D.B. was a one-dimensional, "novelty" sort of talented player. Bit of a prima-donna, but I don't wish to knock him. Well-rounded athletes stick around longer in all sports.
