What would be the best configuration if I wanted to play games and do a lot of graphical things on a computer? How much RAM, how big of a hard drive, how big of a graphics card, etc?

First of all, if you're wanting to play newer games, a good 256MB video card is the least you'll want. An ATI X1600 XT, or an nVidia 7600 GT are the cheapest cards that play all new games well at all.

For RAM, 2GB of total system RAM is what you'll want, since you're also wanting to do "alot of graphical things", in addition to playing games. And don't even consider buying a hard drive that has less than 200 GB of space, since it costs only a few dollars more than an 80 GB model. Oh, and the average game uses well over 2GB of hard drive space. The norm for new games is more than 5 GB's and up to 10 GB's.;-)

the VGA card is the most important feature, you can get 128MB VGA which will play almost all games, but to have the ultimate performance, get 256MB VGA card,

about the memory, if your VGA is not integrated (ie: not built it) then 1 GB will be great, if built in then use more than 1 GB

about the hard drive, its not that problem, an usual 80 GB can handle most of new games( 40 games or more)
