Pure gold is 24 karat. If you assume as100% then 22 karat gold is 91.6...% pure gold. This is sold as 916 gold.In some countries the ornaments are 18 karat gold. But in our country we follow 22 karat. So Indian gold or 916 gold are same. In shops gold is sold as 22 karat gold and now a days with name 916 gold, not with the name Indian gold.To my knowledge there is no gold sold in the name Indian gold in our country.

If gold is 100% percent pure, it needs to be in liquid form...
To be in a solid form, and the best possible purity is 91.6 Percentage... So good quality gold is called as 916 gold....
Its the case in asia... I dont know about rest of world..

91.6% gold which i think is 22 carats or whatever of gold. If gold was 100% it wouldnt be able to form a shape so some metal has to be mixed in. 24 carats is the most you could get and best of quality.
