The T.V. news is not news at all, but is social conditioning and brainwashing. Why do you think that every nation reports the same event in a starkly different light? It is because they want their people to see the world in the way they choose. That's right people, the way THEY choose i.e. you have no choice.

I keep hearing this sort of question being asked more and more these days and it frightens me in a way. Granted I am talking to you as if you are an American citizen in the US but the people should not have to ask this question. A person should not have to question the very foundations of what fuels a proper democracy. In as much as the government needs prompt and accurate access to overseas intelligence to make decisions on national security so too must we have accurate and equal access to news so that we may make decisions on such mundane things as whether we should take the subway today, or more significant decisions such as who we should vote for. It is good for citizens to be skeptical of their government. At no point should its citizens be too afraid or too lazy to question their government.

I believe what they report is basically true based on what information they were given. The thing is however the information they were denied is most likely more true than what's allowed. Then, of course, the news companies filter out only what they think will provide the highest ratings. So out of all the happenings in the world we actually are informed of very little.

How about when they announced that the Pope was dead.
What a screw up that was, I hate when you are listening to one station and you turn to the next and they have almost two different stories. I hate when they tell you to much info. Like "Now the subways are being guarded by undercover police with dogs.) Oh great tell us all about the plans, and secrets that aid in our protection that is needed for us,,,,,,,so that the bad guys hear these great Protection ideas now they know what to look for ( F/A/F NOT know what to look for
