Whatever religion u're from I'd really like u 2 post ur opinion. I think that it's really important 4 people 2 ask these questions, cause people can't be living in denial & pretend that there isn't gay people in the world. We all think & believe what we want, we're entitled 2, but whether we accept them or not, we as humans have 2 compromise & get along even if there are very stuburn people in the world, which there is. I'm a christian & we don't believe in people being gay, we might not even like it, but u know what, in my part I care about them on whatever/whoever they are, cause they're people just like u and me & they have feelings. If we christian turn our backs on them 4 being gay, then how can we call ourselves christian if we r not demonstrating it. On my part I used 2 think that I was gay, I didn't even liked admitting it, so I understand how very hard it is. But then I realized that I was just curious about it. I'm open minded & I like 2 know stuff. So say something about it!

NO, they shouldn't be treated any differently. When you look at American history, gays are being treated (today) like blacks and women were back in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Consider that you are a Loving Child of God, as we all are. Sexual preference is a label, we are so much more than that, and I sense that you know this. But it scares you. It can be hard, but let go of social acceptance and mainstream beliefs. Use your open-mindedness to explore your world and discover YOUR truth. I can relate to your journey as this is where I have been and am going. You love everyone as a good christian should and when we have feelings for the same sex it scares us. Gay people as you put it are not really that different than anyone else. When you really look at it there are many ways to separate us, these are the "differences you see". There are also many similarities and this what holds the human race together. You will see that which you choose - differences or similarities. I choose to see LOVE.

Short answer: No.

Medium answer: No, because that stuff is NOT IMPORTANT. The ONLY thing that matters is how you treat other people. There's a REASON why there is a version of the "Golden Rule" in virtually every religion
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethic_of_reciprocity
... without significant variation from the basic notion that if you wouldn't want it done to you, don't do it to other folks.

Long answer: No, because a society composed of members who adhere to a single vision, too-rigid code of behavior or stale life of the mind is headed full-tilt-boogie towards extinction. Case in point: the Tokugawa Shogunate
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Late_Tokugawa_shogunate
...was able to keep things under control for more than 200 years, until Admiral Perry showed up (with the power of 200 years' worth of research into, among other things, explosives and firearms technology behind him) and put an end to that pipe dream. Society needs challenges to its rules and authorities in order to stay vital. Homosexuality as a cultural force is merely one of the more obvious and recent examples. Since the phenomenon shows no signs of "going away" any time soon, we might as well learn how to deal with it equitably.
Sort of like how left-handed people have lost their status as 'pariahs'.
And to all you hate-/fear-mongers out there who fear losing one of your favorite scapegoats: don't you fret. Sadly, but inevitably, there will be a new "them" coming along as soon as this one becomes too powerful... too *normal*... to persecute and get away with it.

I can't add much more to what you've already said. Homosexuality is a sin. It is a temptation from Satan. It is not genetic. No one is born gay. As you stated, it is a curiosity. This curiosity is normal during youth, but a homosexual has let that curiosity become an addiction, a way of life. Lying, stealing, adultery, these are all sins, and homosexuality is no different. Gays, and their supporters, would have you believe that it's OK to be gay, but they are wrong. Despite what they say, the Bible presents solid evidence that God does not approve of it. It is sexual perversion.

Yes, gays are human, just like drug-addicts, alcoholics, liars, thieves, child abusers, etc., and they deserve to be loved and prayed for just like anyone else. Hate the sin, not the sinner.

The worst manifestation of the gay movement is the fact that they are steadily convincing our youth that there's nothing wrong with it. Their openness, their parades, their stature in society is nothing more than the work of the devil. It is the duty of every Christian to do their best to convince people otherwise.

And beware of those who try to compare the gay movement to the civil rights movement or the women's movement. If you check your Bible you'll see that it is no sin to be black or to be a woman. You will find several references concerning the evil of homosexuality.

no because we are people like everyone else. God made us the way we are and there is absolutely no shame in that. We are people too we just love differently. I always stick to my saying "If love is LOVE then why does it have to be SPECIFIC?" No one can possibly have an answer to that because love is something that has no limitation and its a great thing. It shouldnt matter who u have that with. Im Christian and I believe God made me this way for a reason and frankly i think im flawless no matter what people say!

I respect you SO much on your equality towards everyone as just "people." But sadly, these days we are not just men and women. We are gay men, transgendered women... whatever. A lot of people agree that racism on religion of pretty crude (Jawish, Catholics, Mormons, etc). So why can't those who believe that, and hate on homosexuals, agree the exact same thing with only one difference of sexual orientation?

So... I think not.

I appreciate your tolerant attitude. But it goes beyond tolerance, and I take exception when you attempt to speak for all Christians. I am Christian and gay, and I follow a faith that doesn't have a problem with the fact that gay people exist, love, have families and come to church and take full part. You may belong to one denomination of Christian church that doesn't share the views of others, but when you simply use the word "Christian," you attempt to speak for us all, and you give a false impression.

If you want to say you are Southern Baptist, or if you want to say you follow Jerry Falwell, then that's fine to express what YOUR GROUP of Christians believe. But other Christians, like my friends in the United Church of Christ believe that Jesus Christ was an inclusive Son of God and teacher, and that his overwhelming message in the New Covenant was that we are to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves.

They should be treated with love as everyone else, but homosexuality is wrong:

Leviticus 20:13
13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

In Genisis 18-19, god destroyed Sodom and Gomorah for homosexuality and for what it brought the city into doing.

I believe Jesus Christ lived in the flesh. Say this to all.

It is not the plan of God Almighty for anyone to live as a homosexual acting out sexual acts between the same genders. Yet many people have this affliction, be it they think they was born this way or they have chosen this way of life. Homosexuality is a sin, and all sin is not in the plan of God Almighty. Yes it is a sin to not love your neighbor as you love your self. This is also very high on the list of things that is not in the plan of God Almighty because many people do not practice loving their neighbor as them selves rather they believe they were born this way or they chose to be this way.

We say that it is good to love your neighbor as you love yourself, and if you do not love homosexuality then you would not love the homosexuality in the neighbor. This does not mean you do not love the person, but the act. So the question you may ask then could be "What is it one should do if they have a neighbor that practices homosexuality?"

We should say we do not love the homosexuality, but if you are my neighbor I shall love you, and if I have offended you by telling you this then I am sorry for doing the will of God Almighty, which is not the case. Because I love doing the will of God Almighty and His will is the will i want for me, and you as well.

Now if the person responds by saying," God Almighty loves sinners as well as those that have no sin." You could say , "Yes that is true, and that would mean that you are trying to change in the way all sinners do." They may look at you and suggest that they feel they do not need a change. You could then say," By the blood of Jesus Christ we all shall be changed once we have Him as our Saviour. This will be the way one changes, it may seem that it is a slow process, it may even seem it could never happen, but believe me, a person saved by the grace of God Almighty through the blood of Jesus Christ will be changed. Changed so that person will do the will of God Almighty as they would want to do the will of God Almighty."

Then the person may say," If it is the will of God Almighty for me to be a homosexual doing homosexuality right now, then leave me be." You could then say, " I will leave you be and also pray for you in the name of Jesus Christ that you may be changed soon so that you may be doing the plan of God Almighty according to His plan and not the plan of yours." This person could then become very agitated, but if that person becomes agitated, just say then, " Help me now Lord Jesus Christ for i have offended my neighbor and did not mean to offend them as so."

If this does offend a person, you know to shake the dust of your feet and leave and go there know more, for that person is far from God Almighty and can not be helped by you at this time, and if this does complicate things, or a person can not leave remove the situation any longer then one could ask for help in Jesus Christ name to help the situation and help all concerned and the will of God Almighty be done and no others will be done, and that is the will I want for me." Thank you Jesus Christ for help with all concerned.

I think you are very right in your thinking. I beleive you are right on about how to treat all people. I have many Gay friends in my life and I respect them for who they are. Being Gay and how you prefer your sex is a question of chemical make up and some of choice. It is the person that make the point.
