I have a 60's era Hofner electric/acoustic 12 string, with the name "John" on the case, and have been told that it could be a real Beatle guitar. How do i find out the truth?

John was barely a rhythm guitarist, he would never have been adequate to handle a 12 string.

And the Hofner BASS was Paul's guitar. Neither John nor George ever played that brand.

Maybe you could take it to a guitar store or a guitar show when one comes to a place near you.
