A diminished human race fighting desperately to save a global economy being destroyed by the destruction and over use of nature resources. This will be accompanied and abetted by an increasing degree of global warming.

That's too far into the future. Who in 1983 could have predicted 2002? Or 1911 predicting 1930? Or 1928 predicting 1947? There's simply no way we could be remotely accurate. Prognosticators are amazing if they can go 10 yrs into the future. But 20? You're nuts.
