The trouble is people have to have something to complain about! I agree with you that it is better to prevent planes etc being blown up, but these same people who complain about their 'civil liberties' would be the same people complaining if the police and government had done nothing! With some people you just can't win!I think the name you're looking for is 'morons'!

Personally I think this country is far too soft with everyone!
The do-gooders of the land have made it more or less impossible to punish anyone. The people in prison who are there for many reasons should be in prison as a punishment. but what punishment is it when they are given a T.V in their rooms etc.

As for complaining about peoples civil liberties etc, surely the country would have complained more if these people had boarded the plane and completed their mission!
What about the civil liberties of the innocent people who would have been killed........ Men women and children!!

Maybe the police were a little heavy handed but I think it was about time they were. Set an example that we won't stand for it anymore.
Everyone has been affected by the new changes in boarding planes and other public services. Our rights have been hampered with too, not just those who were arrested.
We should have the right to be safe when travelling...... the 'fruitcakes' have taken that from us and they have to be stopped by whatever means necessary!

What if it wasn't them?

Shock, horror, the concept that the police might accidentally or even deliberately arrest the wrong people!

Jean Charles De Menenez anyone?
Forest Gate anyone?

The civil liberties have to be respected to protect people who later may turn out to be innocent!

And also, even if they are guilty, two wrongs don't make a right! You can't compromise your principles of fair treatment and protecting human rights of someone, just because they behave like monsters! If you do, you allow yourself to be dragged down to the same level.

They should not have any CIVIL LIBERTIES at all
I would just put them against a wall and shoot them
They are not HUMAN they are animals
So they should be shot like an animal

If they where not involved with this
Then why are they corresponding with others
Who are trying to commit these atrocities

THEY ARE AS GUILTY AS HELL

Innocent until prove GUILTY

If they were arrested in the muslim country i live in, all of them would be detained under the home security act which calls for indefinite detention without being charged with no contacts allowed. These London airplot suspects should be guantanamo bound. Civil liberties my foot!

People are worried that people are wrongly arrested due to intelligence, the two people in Forest Gate and the De Menezes case are still fresh in people's mind. If they are guilty well done to the police and the intelligence, they have saved a disaster which cannot contemplate.

Because political correctness has gone mad in this country, these people are twisted - you never seem to hear people complaining about the rights of the innocent being violated.

Errrrrrrr................... Innocent until proven guilty? Or should we arrest you and throw away the key without trial or recourse to a legal defence, on the grounds of woolly thinking?????

First of all, those "fruitcakes" are most likely working very closely with puppet groups whose leaders are affiliated with western governments.

And even so, they are still human beings and have basic God given rights that even the most atrocious behavior cannot take away.
