Me and my girlfriend broke up today, and we still live together but I am moving in two weeks. We have a two bedroom townhome, so we don't have to be all in each others faces. The question is, how do i get over her if i am still in her presence. It hurts cuz she was cheating on me, that's why we broke up...i just couldn't take the lies anymore

sorry that happened to you..i dont know of anything thats really going to make you feel better if you have to be around her---betrayal is a hard one to get over..but time really does heal the wounds...you have my respect for standing up for yourself and letting her know you deserve better -- good luck

Honestly, the healing starts when you cut all ties to her. This means no communication. You'll need time for your heart to heal and it can't start until you move out. Once this is done; your heart will heal with time. I just broke up with my guy. It's been about three weeks so far. I went through the crying stage; missing him stage; frustration and anger stage; and now I'm in the "I can't believe I put up with this stuff and thank God its over" stage.

My other advice, try to do something special for yourself. Gym, book clubs, cooking classes or anything you have always wanted to do, but didn't. However; this is very important: find out what you liked and didn't like, in your ex-girlfriend. With the next special person (because its going to happen), have your eyes opened along with your heart and mind. Good luck!

Most people might say to rebound or just forget it, but it is true. Only time can heal. To help, try to not linger on. Help yourself drift off.

that totally sucks...but i have been there done that...had my gf cheat on me, and lie, lie and lie....oh did i mention she was a liar....all i can say is it takes time...i know that sounds cliche' but its true..with time, you will feel better, and not think about her so much...i used to think about my x everyday, and would cry, and then she would contact me, and make me feel worse...but with time..i am over her, and ready to move on, and be in a loving relationship again...its hard for me to trust..but that will come with time as well.

only time will heal you. Allow yourself to heal before you jump into another relationship. Good luck to you!! I know it hurts but time does help heal you.

ouch. i know how you feel. my ex just suddenly told me one day that she wasn't happy. i stayed for another 2 months because i was getting a mammogram and biopsy done. (and i didn't want to just ditch my job without notice) we only had a 1 br and it was hard to be around her. just try not to dwell on her cheating, i know its hard. i wish you luck and hope soon you'll be able to say 'who?'

i am really sorry to hear that. it is hard to deal with after being with someone for that amount of time, time is a great healer. go out wiht friends and try to avoid her as much as possible.
