yes ad No. the phone itself will work but it would need to be unlocked, and as most uk pay and go phones are locked it would meen u paying extra to get it unlocked.Try buying whats known as a sim free handset handset only from places like phones 4 u ans arphone warehouse. beware as thes can be pricey. also make sure the phone u buy is tri band
look at the total cost b4 u buy as after doing all that it might jut be better to buy phone there cos dont forget u will need a charger that also works in canda
good luk in canda a great place to life

If the phone works on a network here the phone will work in Canada but remember you will be paying a lot of money for calls as it is a foreign phone. The other alternative is to get someone in Canada to open your phone to the Canadian networks and buy a Sim card once in Canada

It depends on 2 things:
1. If your phone is unlocked, which means u can use it with any network then it can. If it is locked that mans you can only use it with the network you bought it with. You can get it unlocked, its like 30 bucks (US).
2. It has to be triband, which means that it works in almost all nations except 4 australia. Usually all the latest models, the ones that r high tech, are trband. Quadband is even better cuz it works in australia too.
So you can buy a phone from UK and use it in Can. as long as it has those two things, which usually means that you can also use it worldwide.
Hope i helped, good luck!!!!!!!!!

The best thing to do is basically what Ethan told you BUT make sure you get a SIM FREE phone so that its not tied to a specific service provider, otherwise the canadian SIM won't work in the phone. I did the same when I lived in France for a year.

She could do but there's no point, you might as well get one on a Canadian network, it'll be so much cheaper. Although the price of international calls on mobile phones is set to drop, it will still be far more expensive than a domestic phone network. Depends how wealthy you are and how much cash you're willing to through around.

Yes she can. In Canada people use sim cards. (GSM)
She can use the same instrument (phone) in Canada which she uses in the UK. All she needs is to get a different service provider in Canada.

if it is a satelite phone then yes - otherwise she will have to find the same carrier she is using now and switch the service over to local. It may work but I don't think she will want to pay the roaming and long distance charges combined if she leaves it like it is.
good luck

Yes but if you make a call to someone in Canada they're considered international calls.

If it is a tri-band phone it will. Noth American phones operate on a different band to the rest of the world.
