Don't even get me started! I don't WANT a guy who's "in touch with his feminine side".
There are some things girls do, and some things guys do. Me, I want a MAN! I want someone to open jar lids for me, and how the heck can a guy do that if he's crying? I want a guy to put his arms around ME when I'M crying and tell me things will be OK. How can I believe him, if just 10 minutes ago HE was the one crying?
And walking around with all that angst... It's GOT to be tiring! I always ask, when they are moaning and groaning about the tragedy of life, "Would you rather be dead?" They usually quietly slink away after that.
Give me John Wayne!

Men are rare these days. there are plenty of male humans and boys, but men are few and far between. Im not exactly sure when in history this occured, but i have a feeling it began with the industrial revolution and finally took drastic effect sometime in the late 1960s. The main problem is that our culture has no clear demarcation point between men and boys. It cannot be age related as the government would like you to belive. many males who are several years into legal adulthood still have the minds of little boys. it cannot be job related or property related, as children can get jobs in agriculture and can have their own savings accounts. there are adult males with property and jobs, but they are not men. In our american/european culture there is no clear boundary between the men and the boys. warrior cultures in africa have various rituals that take place where the participants are changed from boy to man. The difference between the two is moral. when the boys become men, they are expected to take responsibility for their actions, fight in battle for the tribe, build houses, hunt game, and train children. they are expected to put all their wants aside in order to provide for the needs of the tribe. somewhere in our history, the men stopped telling the boys to stop being boys and start being men. then those boys grew up without ever knowing for sure that they are men, and that was passed on to the next generation. today there are very few males who become men. and of those few an even fewer amount know what the essence of a man is, and they cannot pass that moral code on. that way each generation has to find it out for themselves, but then they fail to teach their offspring because they dont know that they need to.
The feminist movement had a big role to play in this. they have immasculated our culture in such a way that the adult males who could become men are discouraged. A man who maintains control over his emotions is considered "disconnected" while a adult male who is petty and driven totally by what he feels at the moment is called "sensitive". This disturbs me. It also disturbs me that when boys would like to become men it immediately draws fire from feminists. All boys hear nowdays is "dont be a man, be a pussycat".

Some of them are nice, and then recently I was told by one of them that I broke his heart because he found out I had a boyfriend.... I suppose its just depends who you come across. But yes, whatever happened to real men with manners?
ETA: "when they're high and making out with emo boys"? FICKLE!

trend..yoda..its a trend..iam in my 40's..and somehow i know what an emo is..what happened to the good ol days..when men were men..instead of whiney, mama boys..ive seen emo's as being long-haired skate bums..listning to tyrannical heavy metal and sucking on baby pacifiers laced with LSD.
what happened to the youth of the old days? gone forever..buckle your seat belts yoda..the ride's gonna get turbulent!

They were called 'Goths' in my day! (personally, I think it's just an excuse to wear make-up and act like a girl...)

Don't worry, it's a phase. Or at least I try to tell myself that to make me feel better.
