I used to only like large dogs as pets, but I have found that I like smaller dogs. They are less cumbersome and you can take them places more easily. They don't eat as much and can be excellent watchdogs if what you need is more of an audible alarm than a biter. Chihuahuas are good, but so are teacup Yorkshire Terriers, also known as "Yorkies." They're extremely portable and you can put them in your coat pocket with their heads poking out.

Dogs are tried and true. Stick with dogs.

I have some fiber optic fish swimming in beautiful fiber optic coral.
I cant plug it in and it's mesmerising. I also have a bald eagle mobile. When the air comes on or when I have on my ceiling fan, He flys proudly and peacefully.
My "pets" require no feeding, no cleaning. Nothing against real live pets, but I just love the ones that require no work. I can't keep a plant alive.... Did I mention my "pet" rocks... I have quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, bloodstone, tigers eye. I have lots of those types of stones, Even though my stones require cleansing, Those are the most peaceful of my "pets"
Peaceout dude.

Depends on your situation and how much time you have to devote to the pet. If you're not home a lot, get a tarantula. I like both dogs and cats, but I can't give them the attention they need, so I forego the impulse and instead enjoy other people's.

Awe...I have a chihuahua, we just got him a week ago. He is a faithful well trained dog. Not spoiled or out of control like most little dogs these days.
Whatever pet you get, I know you will love!

cats are the best! But they like a measure of independence, and so access to a safe outside area is ideal. Dogs are lovely but are a lot of hard work. For children, guinea pigs are fantastic, as they don't bite or scratch and they 'talk' to you. they need a place to run around and ideally some grass to eat, and are very entertaining.

It depends on your lifestyle. Dogs require a lot of your time and attention ( my personal favorite). Cats don't require as much attention and need even less if you have two. Exotic animals require different things like heated rocks and live food for snakes, special food and containers for Iguanas, etc. Depending on the type, birds can be very long-lived, noisy and messy so you have to be prepared for that. Once again, it depends on your lifestyle.
