Talk to someone in an Agway or similar store (as opposed to Home Depot). Tell them what weeds you have and they will advise you what you can do to control them.

This has been a tough summer to keep up with the weeds! In Missouri it's been in the 100's for the past two weeks! As soon as it cools down, pick one area of your garden, weed it good, lay about 7 layers of newspaper, old magazines, or cardboard, then apply about 3-4 inches of mulch and water good. This should prevent much weeding next summer. After you do this area and rest up start on another one. Have fun and plant some fall flowers or bulbs along the way!

I put in this black tarp stuff I bought from wall mart. Lay-ed out good soil. When I plant stuff I dig and cut a whole in the tarp and plant. I have no weeds come threw. Mulch as well.
