if u mean cheap and value for money

try the Dell Inspirion 1300

...good for basic & office work
> consider adding 256 mb ram .. helps a lot
also, go 4 it only if u stay in a city
not sure of dell's rural reach

think celeron m is out 4 now, cannot find any manufacturer ...
good, it's cheap but totally useless ..

Well windows is best
if you want advice ill tell you to buy a IBM T60 It costs 1900-3800$ (it depends on the features).

it comes with Windows XP Proffetional which is best.(3 year international warranty)

windows is much easier to use
both acer and toshba are the worst companys i have ever seen. i have had 2 each before i got IBM T60
