Yes, many times. But there is 1 time I particularly remember. There was a little old man around 85 or so who was walking down the main road in my town a few years back and I noticed he looked confused. My friend and I were walking behind him, so we asked him if he needed help. He said he didn't know where he was or who he was. I asked him if he had any ID, which he did not, so my friend stayed with him and I walked to the nearest house and asked if I could use the phone to call the police. Once the police came they said they would take him to the hospital and try and find out who he was but no one had reported him missing. The officer thanked us and said that if we hadn't called, that man may have ended up permanently missing as so many seniors with Alzheimer's do as people tend to ignore them and they never ask for help. We missed our movie but neither of us will ever forget our good deed we did that day.

I sat at a table next to a women in a restaurant.
Later, I noticed she had left her purse. A nice, new designer bag.
My daughter and I decided to take the bag home rather than leave it. We looked at the I.D. then tried to find listing in phone book. That failed so I yahoo'd a map using her CDL and a high dollar payroll check enclosed in the wallet. I was almost sure this was a current address. I then drove about 18 miles and located the home. When the woman I saw in the restaurant answered the door, graciously I explained what had occurred then walked to my car and gathered her bag.
She was not even aware that she had left it. Thank God she did not wake up in the morning looking for it, not knowing where it was left!
We did not speak at the restaurant but when she looked to see who was knocking on her door she recognized me, having no fear or qualms about answering the door ...

I feel sorry in saying 'no'. The reason is bad experience of those who tried to help strangers. I must admit that I have been helped by strangers many times. I always remain polite in dealing with strangers.
Helping others gives self satisfaction.

Yes. I gave 2 little starving kids some burgers and drinks even without them asking for it.
I helped an old woman cross the busy street. It feels so good to extend a hand to those in need. Now tell me, may i help you?

every day... whether it's giving the right of way on the highway like letting someone come off a ramp when everyone one else speeds up to block them....
Giving away the last of something and having nothing in reserve...
being someone's support system when they are going through something...
My job.. pretty much puts me in that position every day.

I made a habit of this and now its a part of my life. The one little thing you do for them may mean the world to them.

Yes, whenever I am able. I would want the same in return, so I try to treat others how I would want to be treated.
