Gymnastics is not difficult until you start getting into competition. To get on a competition team you have to be good. Some people are just naturally gymnasts and learn the skills a lot easier than other people but anyone who is willing to make the commitment will succeed. It is more mentally challenging than anything but you do have to be in excellent shape for the sport. I started when I was 7 and when I was 7 1/2 i was on a team. It takes a lot of time. 12- 24 hrs a week when I was younger but its like your family there.

My daughter is just finishing her first season she is 4 yrs. old and she loves it. I think she thinks it's a lot of fun not "hard". I took some gymnastics in high school when I was 16-17 yrs. old and I loved it. Somethings were difficult to do but it was great when I was able to do something after trying sooooo many times. I wish I had started earlier in life those gymnasts were so strong. I always admired thier strength and their commitment. It isn't something you can learn in a weekend and you can't stop or you loose a lot of the abilities you worked so hard for. I can tell you it was the most fun I had in all of high school. One other thing, I overheard one of the instructors at my child's gym talking with an older lady maybe 50-56 yrs. old. I remember him saying to her I can teach ANYBODY that is willing to TRY. Needless to say she looked skeptical. But I believe him! Visit some gyms and find the one you like. Some places just have tumbling if that's what you like and others specialize in trampoline. Many different kinds of gyms so make sure you look around. Give it a try and keep with it if you like it.

Yes, it's difficult
I totally recommend trying it though! You'll use muscles you never thought you had and become more flexible in the process!!
You'll find gymnastics takes a lot of strength endurance. Speed is also important too, but strength is one of the most important factors in being able to do a skill. Of course, balance and power too.
There is also a lot of mentality that goes with it because - like any other sport, there is a fear factor - doing a backtuck on the beam or flying on the high bar and so on and so forth.
However, I think it's one of the most memorable experiences you will have. Just always make sure to put in 110% effort and you'll benefit greatly!!

Yes. You need to be a certain type of athlete in order to do gymnastics. It looks easier on TV than it actually is.
