I used to have the same problem!
Try to rub alcohal (or nail polish remover) onto your nails. If you bite them, then they taste and smell horrible. Lemon juice worked for me.
Don't do this at school or you'll look like an idiot. When I got back home, I would put tape over my fingers. And wear them until I need to go to school. Yeah, wear them at night, even when asleep. Some people unconciously bite their nails I think. Or if you can't sleep, you might bite your nails too.
This can also be under stress so don't listen to music when you go to bed. You can listen to instrumental but only that. Then maybe you can read and eat fruit or a decent chocolate bar. Then brushing and sleep well. Taking a hot bath or shower can also help.
Oh, and try not to put your hands on your cheeks or you might be tempted to bite them.
Good luck on your nails!

I too was a nail biter for years. An elderly man saw my nails at my employment and gave me this advice: buy a nice nail file and the minute you get the "sharp" edges from biting the nail, simply file the sharpness off. It sure worked! I have since given this advice to several people and it worked for them as well. It is such a simple solution you wouldn't think it would work but it sure does. Good luck!

you be responsive to what you need to do? stop studying, go out and detect a chemist (or drug shop...I dunno what they might call it on your us of a), and detect a nail polish there in specific for nail biting. once you place it on, it rather is sparkling and un-noticable. yet once you visit bite your nails...BAM! The flavor is unfavorable. It tastes like abode paint mixed with banana. VERY DISGUSTING. you are able to purely flavor it however, no longer scent it, so do no longer complication in regards to the heady scent making you ill. That enables plenty with nail biting. Use it until you stop completly, have faith me, it works. it rather is non poisonous, via the way.

Tough problem...
I know that wearing gloves won't help - that's what Michael Jackson tried and he just ended up ruining a perfectly good pair... his only ones, and now he has to wear mittens on cold days when he's out molesting children.
Try just keeping your hands away from your face... or put Tabasco sauce on your fingers... better yet... don't wash your hands after using the john -- that'll keep you thinking.
