Its in basic nature of any parents.
They are just protective.
If they start feeling that u r safe with that guy then they wont stop u.

Well you do not say how old you are or how old he is. You do not indicate what kind of students you may or may not be etc. You give no information for anyone to honestly answer the question. What are her rules regarding the calling? I can tell you that in my house, I have a 14 year old girl, 16 year old boy, I had an 18 year old boy and the rules apply to all. The phone is not for their personal use, it is for the family to use which means we all need to share it so limits are imposed. Additionally, there are no, I mean no phone calls either in or out of the house after 9pm. If the clock strikes 9 and one of them is on the phone, it is terminated. We all have rules and we all have to live by rules. I suggest that you ask your mom the question and see what her answer is. Maybe you two can discuss it as a mom and a mature daughter and come to an agreement that will satisfy both of you. Good luck.

wouldn't know where to start.. first off how old are you and how old is your bf? Maybe your mother is just being cautious because of the age.. and wants to make sure that if you are talking about sex or something that she knows about it.
I know it may sound silly or a downer but your mom is most likely just trying to make sure you are alright,... and that you don't get pressured into doing something or do something without knowing what you are getting into

my mom used to tell me when you have kids you ll understand and since i became a dad i do as a parent you want your kids to have the best possible chance in life and that means keeping them focused on the important things like school,and hopefully getting a good paying job she only wants the best for you trust me love is important but it doesn't pay the bills

its because she loves you & wants you to be safe and her baby still, i had the same problem when i lived with my mum, now that i'm older i relise that she loves me and doesn't want me to move first at such a young age, your young enjoy it!!!! but don't get angry at your mum cause you will be thanking her one day
