Because people don't understand what racism means. I rather you ask a question about my difference than make an assumption and treat me differently about my difference.

For example:background: Two girls finish b-ball practice and after showering the white girl asks a black about hair.

Non racist, but ignorant ( def: not knowing about something):

white girl: Why didn't you wash your hair?
Black girl: Because of my hair type, I don't need to wash my hair everyday. Some black girls do because they have have finer or oilier hair, but mine being curlier dries out from too much shampoo.

Racist action, due to ignorance:
white girl": Shouts, hey you dirty black girl. Why don't you go wash you hair and throws a bottle of shampoo at me.
black girl: I can't believe this -itch call me dirty. I going to kick her -ss for throwing this shampoo at me.

I do find people may ask ignorant questions, but I like that their asking because maybe then I have the opportunity to enlighten. it's the people who don't ask who tend to truly be racist because then they think they know and want to eradicate the problem.

To freely question does not mean to intimate that others have faults though. A lot of times when I read these I find the person accusing me (whom s/he does not even know) as racist based on the colour of my skin or an answer I may have provided.

Ask your questions but try to do it without prejudices.
