It sums up the American system well. Most people forget that we pay other prices for freedom other than dead soldiers. The deaths caused by drunk driving and deaths caused by guns are also prices of freedom.

i have heard that quote many times and think it is fantastic. I have mostly heard it in reference to the PATRIOT act. I have done much research on that topic and find it abhorrent. the things it allows are ridiculous and most senators are not even familiar with it. only one senator voted against it, Russ Feingold from Wisconsin. it was passed in hast and needs revision.
