Cain first murdered Abel because God had liked Abels sacrifice more than that of Cain's. So Cain who was a farmer decided to kill his brother by inviting him to come and sow crops with him. When abel reached there Cain took a club hit Abel on his head and killed him. So God said to Cain that the land will not grow crops for him anymore and he would have to go to some other place.
