because once your hurt all u can say is love hurts the emotions that u feel don't go away u steel have that pain askin u wat u did wrong

Because it's a real emotion.
It taps into your deepest fibers, and you become inextricably intertwined with it. Anything which is real, has a plus side and a negative side... all things in life have a natural balance.
Love hurts, in general, when things don't go the way you want them to, relationship-wise. Love hurts, when there's an imbalance in the perceived value of the relationship between the partners involved. Love hurts, mostly, however, when it isn't there. You'll have to discover your own particular demons, with this, face them, and either put them to bed, or start learning to dance with them.
So. That's as personal as I can get, with the question of the eons.

Love hurts, even when you are really in love, because human love (as opposed to divine love) is imperfect and generally finite. Love wants infinity--to infinitely express itself, to infinitely give itself, to be infinitely loved in return. And then during or after a relationship, we experience the limitations of our love and the love of the other. And it hurts! But it is still worth it. Love is also the most beautiful and eternal thing. Try reading the new encyclical from Benedict XVI. Deus caritas est. Really. Even if you are not into religion, it is an insightful look into love.
