I mean I have always found myself much different from my peers. I just have morals, but I was ridiculed and talked about because of that. But I see it everywhere. People make fun of people that are different. They could dress differently, talk different, or even just look different. Why do we hurt each other like that?

I wouldn't call it human nature, because I like to be optimistic...and hope that this is something that humans can get past, one day.

It's animal nature. We're afraid of the unknown. Freud (although he was a kook) said that jokes were a way for us to deal with our fear in a way that doesn't make us panicky.

When someone makes jokes at someone else's expense, either they fear the person, or they fear being in that person's position. Someone might make fun of someone who is stupid because they are afraid of being stupid, and so on and so on.

We look down on others because we're so full of animalistic fear.

Its like a monkey see, monkey do world, I think you should be very proud to stand alone in your morals, making fun of people, and hurting people Is so sad, Its about time people started standing for whats right, and make the ones doing and saying things to hurt others see that they are the ones who are different, and they need to be looked down on for it.

People are getting increasingly ignorant and rude. It is being remarked about in the press, and opinion polls.
It is a sorry trend, and many parents have either given up, or never tried.
