What ever you do, DON'T beat around the bush about it. You simply say, Mr. so and so you still owe me X amount for _____, Would it be possible for you to pay me today for that because I'm needing some money right now. He will RESPECT YOU for that.

You can remind him by calling the labor board. This guy is breaking the law unless you are getting paid under the table and not reporting your money or paying/filing taxes? You can always tell the boss you left your wallet at home and need to borrow money from he/she and when they ask you for it back, tell him/her that you were wondering when they were going to pay you back first...or tell them to take if off the money they owe you..

It's really very difficult. Take it easy. You need to have the right environment around you. Then just say it smiling "hey boss you owe me :-)"

remind him about the incident or any similiar funny incident and then try to bring him back on this incident where you had to pay and now he owes you the money.

Try talking with him/ her about everything, including his/ her debt "in chance". Not to ask him/ her to pay immediately, only remind him/ her cheerfully.
