Nothing should catch anyone's eyes. The goal for each team is no injuries and let the rookies play. Nothing too much.
Your digging way too much into it. Pre season literally means nothing to the coaches. The 49ers a few years ago were 3-1 during pre-season and lead the league in most categories, and ended up winning 4 games in the regular season. the Patriots often are a .500 team so don't get too excited.

It would have to be Stephen Jackson running over every colts defensive player. He now is the "TRUE" starting running back and finally has a coach that likes to keep the plays equal and not throw the ball all the d@#$ time!! You can't also count out Viniateri with that onside kick off the first play and how well Peyton did to drive all the way down the field with ease to score a touchdown

The Bucs looked great and Chris Simms is settling in quite well... expect them to be in the playoffs with at least a wild card spot. The Bears tore up the Chargers and it was not a good debut for the investment called Phillip Rivers... however we all know that the quarterback can do nothing without an offensive line, decent backfield and receivers who can get into the flat, get open and outrun the defense.

yes, you asked this question.
the Patriots could care less about wins and losses in the preseason, they think of it as a live scrimmage, like where there was an illegal man down field on a punt by the Falcons, they made the Falcons kick it again since it was a chance to practice a punt return.

My teams - the SF 49ers and the Oakland Raiders are having preseasons. The Niners have won, by the skin of their teeth, and the Raiders commit more yardage in avoidable penalties than they do in rushing. But they're my teams, except for Sunday, when they play each other - then I am a Niner fan.

The 49ers beat the bears 28-24. Alex Smith went 16/21 with no interceptions. I smell Super Bowl.....soon....well maybe a bit after soon.

It's a little early to get too excited about anything, but one thing that did catch my eye has been the performance of Jay Cutler. I can see him playing by midseason if Plummer reverts back to his mistake-prone self. Tony Romo looks good for Dallas too.

I really think Stephen Jackson and Maroney are going to become elite backs in a couple more years.
Brian Westbrook's short performance against Oakland also impressed me.

My team (Rams) played very well against the (Colts). Rams running game improved very well. It is too early to judge.

Maroney looked great and what about that rookie for the Giants who returned that special teams touchdown?
