I suffered the same thing. Mine was due to badly working kidneys.

Get your kidneys checked just incase. Anemia is a VERY common side effect of kidney disease. I get shots every week to keep my count up around 12.

Sounds like you have some bleeding disorder, maybe excessive vaginal bleeding (you didn't mention if you have heavy periods). Seems to me like your doctor should have done more testing while you were in the hospital to find out where the blood loss is coming from. If he doesn't send you for further testing, get another doctor. If it's a bleeding disorder, see a hematologist (that's a doctor that deals with blood disorders). Don't drop the ball, follow up on it.

Your blood levels drop when you are dehydrated (which being ill make dehydration worse). You should be drinking 8-12 8oz glasses of water a day, not sodas or super sweet juices Water. This should bring your blood levels back into the normal range.

You could have ruptured or torn a blood vessel. The next test the doctor should do is an MRI with contrast, and or a CT Scan with contrast.

Good Luck

I had the same problem. I had to have 4 bags also, slong with shots to help my body produce more blood. You could have an internal infection, or maybe you are on new drug that might be keeping your body from producing blood. Do you have any other health issuus.
