what we do to stop or control crime dose not work or ther would be less or non. and to say that sociaty has no negitive influnce over crime is redickuless. ther are more laws then i can shake a stik at. and ters still crime maby some of those victoms should grow up. heck the bigest thing wrong with law are the people who make and defend them. we dont make lawyer jokes for nothing. and judges are tape recordes that play it back. and thay go by what the lawers work out not truth or justis just good for them im shur ther are good ones out ther but i bet ther few and far in betwen

I wouldn't say that we create crime, but we certainly label it as such. Even inside moralistic/religious/natural law there is a lot of decision what is wrong and what is right, based on nothing more than a person's belief.
Luckily(maybe) we have a way of controlling this, and that is through government. Let us take murder for example. We, as a society have decided murder is bad and that the punishment for the different types of murder is this or this. We decide it as a whole because if given to the individual, more than likely there would be some excessiveness to the punishment.
Let's say that somebody close to you gets murdered. Your judgment of the person is to just up and kill them right back, get vengeance. Not a bad reaction, but as a part of the society that person has given his right to vengeance over to the society, hopefully as a better judge of the crime.
We do let the few rule the many, and was a central point of the constitution. Citizens get to pick who they think have their best interests in mind, and that person makes the decisions for them. It would be incredible if everybody had the education to make their own societal decisions, but in this day and age there are not that many (relative to the population) that reach a high enough education to do so.

Parts of what you say I can agree with. I think some things aren't so much about what is right or wrong, but what some people think is right or wrong. Drugs will always be dealt because people will always buy them. Prostitution is pretty much the same story. I think that there are some things that are wrong by nature. Murder, rape, torture, theft and assault are the big ones. And yes, there are sometimes reasons why people do these things that could be viewed as good reasons. It doesn't make it right and it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be punished. I can also agree that our legal system leans pretty much in favor of the person with the most money. There's a lot of things I would fix about our government if I could. I wouldn't pay representatives of the people so much. People who really want to make a difference will do it for enough money to pay the bills. People who want only the power want to get rich off it as well. I wouldn't allow frivolous lawsuits. I wouldn't allow any law that made victimless crimes illegal to be passed. I wouldn't let people try to legislate morality. I also wouldn't allow laws that only protected stupid people to be passed. There's no earthly reason why the rest of the nation should have to suffer because you don't want to take responsiblity for being a moron. But, then again, I don't make the rules and it's gonna be very hard to change them. The best thing I've come up with is to come to the polls well informed and to vote for whatever candidate I think will make the best progress in that direction.

We do not create crime, we defined it. We say that hurting, killing or stealing from any member of a society is a crime. Members of a society agreed to abide by those rules and defend the member so victimized by anyone either from outside the society or inside the society. We know what creates crime. Avarice, jealousy, wanting something or someone that you don't have legal right to. The root cause is the individual because if it was but society your country would literally unlivable for anyone living today's life. The movie Mad Max would be playing in the street outside your door. If you don't like what is happening you and your neighbours should get off your chair and away from the computer and get involved in your community. I live in the poorest most drug ridden community in Canada but all my friends are struggling with poverty with out breaking the laws. That why I look around at my community and laugh at the pronouncements of social workers who won't come down here except in packs. I think most of this blame society for crime comes from the fact that the only people the social workers who make these statements talk to are criminals who lie and do not accept responsibility for what ever they do anyway. And these fools with the degrees just accept whatever they are told by the "victims" no matter what ever anyone tells them including the victims of the crimes, police or evidence. Of course victims don't count, police lie and evidence is propally faked. So the bloody head smashed window and missing money and property don't matter when writing your findings that all crime is due to.... what ever you don't like today.

Societies that fail to enforce laws, that fail to establish boundaries, that have no consequences, allow crime. But criminals create crime. Don't put it on law abiding citizens, it is the same as saying guns kill, but guns do not kill..... people kill... if not with guns, with knives, or bats/clubs, rocks, cars, drugs, hands, feet, water, anything that can be used as a weapon.
Failing to stand up to wrong, tyrants, Islamo-facists, communists, etc, and allowing money(selling ones soul) to have such high rung on the ladder of importance, is what allows the few to rule.

i have to say that to a point your right. in NYC the price of cigarettes is about $7.50 per pack because of all the taxes levied at the cigarette smokers. this has in turn created a tremendous black market for cigarettes smuggled in from Virginia. a pack of cigarettes in the street is $5.00 and the criminal element are old Lady's selling the cigarettes on a park bench. the government created this new crime not the people. i don't smoke but my dad does and he has people deliver cigarettes to the house. this has made hundreds if not thousands of new yorkers criminals.

My only response, breakdown613, is why don't you make use of 'abc' - check spelling facility provided by Yahoo - and improve your spelling and grammar, before submitting your questions or answers, so that readers can be spared of the herculean task of deciphering your language.
