I'm an egyptian, I'm 20, I've been drinkin tap water my whole life, and I'm still alive!

Look...I live in Alexandria and I have been to Cairo so many times. I brush my teeth normally with tap water, but when it comes to drinkin it's not rlly preferred..buy bottled water, it only costs about L.E. 2 max for the one litre...HAVE FUN!!

I recommend to drink the tap water if you're in Cairo, not outside...
Even in Cairo, the water is better in Heliopolis than in Dokki... So, it's ur choice at the end...

if you dont have bottles you can drink from the tap, it will not harm you, some poor egyptians dont use even filters to drink water from the tap, but when you go out buy some bottles of water, or buy a filter attach it to the tap. and you can drink safely.

I would not do it. Best buy bottled water that is sealed. If cannot buy water, definately BOIL all drinking water. Also be careful of brushing teeth with tap water, best to boil some water and keep it in a bottle to use for teeth brushing.

if you are not Egyptian then you better drink mineral water cause tab water would probably hurt your stomach. it's not poison's or something but it will give you a stomacher (it did to my American friends but i drink tap water)
but about washing your teeth with it it never hurt any of my friends
actually if you are staying in Egypt for a long time you can buy a water filter and you'll be fine

If you are not arabian I wouldnt reccomend it, I'm american and everyone that is not egyptian dont drink from it. We can't handle it, the taste is terrible and its sickning.
