This is both a scientific and a philosophical question.
The most popular science theory postulates that our sun is a main sequence star and will stay this way for about 9 billion years. It is reckoned to be half way through this stage and so has 4.5 billion years to go. After that time the sun will run out of hydrogen and become a red giant - this will mean that life on earth will be unviable.
The philosophical angle has many facets. The Christian one says that God will declare an end to the current human age and Jesus will return to take charge of things, restoring everything to the perfection God intended. Following that there will be a re-creation event producing a new heaven and a new earth.
Neither can be proven in a scientific sense and so the debate will roll on until .......?

Nothing is certain about the end of the world from empirical evidence. We see men hurting the earth for greedy purposes, and no doubt it will only get worse. The sun will be much hotter. Drought and flooding will increase. Disasters will increase in frequency. Famines will become widespread as genetically modified food becomes a huge mistake too late to put back into the box. We are afflicted with lust for the almighty dollar, and consequences be damned. We don't give a sh*t for future generations; we just want to be rich. As we keep this up, we are getting that much closer to destroying ourselves. Nobody knows when, but the progression to that when is quite noticeable.

More 5 billion years. It's because sun is now reaching half life, and at the future of next 5 billion years the sun turned red and died as it suck the nearest planet first. You don't have to worry about, that future surpassed our age of generations so there is a lot enough time for us to live from young to old in this century.

Statistics (and some evidences) show that every 100-500 million years a meteor big enough to destroy every life on earth will hit our planet.....so if we don't destroy ourselves or a new virus or whatever other cause meanwhile, we are doomed !

Read the book of Revelation, the last book in the Bible. It describes our final events but doesn't give a calendar date.
