I'm sure I'm due for one by now but I am being pressured to go get one because I stepped on an old ear ring. The post went all the way into my
heel and it didn't bleed. My dad said it's not good that it didn't bleed. But I don't want to go tell my doctor I want a Tetnis shot cause I stepped on an ear ring.I wouldn't feel so dumb if I had stepped on a rusted nail. But it was only an ear ring post.Should I go right away because of the
ear ring or can this wait until another time?

I do think this hurts like hell though. The post went in my heel and hit the bone.
It doesn't feel like a puncture. It feels like a bad stone bruise.

All I would say, speaking from experience is get the tetanus shot. The doctor won't think you're daft and trust me it is much better then getting tetanus. It is really nasty and in some cases fatal. For the sake of a little pride I would really do it if I were you. Good luck!!

If the ear ring post, was rusty, then you should get a tetnis shot. I believe that the shots are good for 5 years. For now, soak your foot, in hot water, with some salt, that will help, in case you get an infection..good luck..

tell him it was a sewing needle or something like that, you need one of those shots every ten years so do it now and you are covered for a good while then dance on your earrings if you want, however if the earring wasnt rusty, there likely is no reason, i did the rusty nail thing and never went to the doctor, but i did end up with a nasty bump on my foot that hurt like the devil for two years.

Yes, you should go to the doctor. The doctor will determine if you need a tetanus shot.

Why worry about this? Go and find out if you need the shot. It is always better to be cautious.
