He was wilder in Animal House and was given, by John Landis, more freedom, comically. He was great in Blues Brothers and he showed off his musical ability. I would have to pick Animal House....one of my all time favorite comedies. Great question.

John 'Bluto' Blutarsky have to pick this because me and a couple friends still not old enough to see it without a parent snuck into the movie theatre to see Animal House good memory. Man i'm old. Blues Brother also very funny movie though. On A Mission From God.

I loved John Belushi. I was a huge fan of his SNL comedy from the seventies. But, funny thing, I saw him in Animal House at the age of 15, and decided then and there I needed to go to college!! He was absolutely a riot!!! Yes, I saw it in a theater...yes I am in my early 40's!! :)

Both Bluto and Jake were wonderful creatures. I love them both! Perhaps I liked Jake The Man on a Mission just a little bit more (but just a bit!) than Bluto.
