Europeans are masters of dry wit and sarcasm. Russia is the only real exception to this. There was never much of a cultural development of sarcasm in Russia, but rather a statement of the blatantly obvious for a similar effect. That's the closest they come.

lol. i know what you are saying, and it is in many cases true, but that is a very overgeneralized statement. sarcasm is part of our culture and language. people who do not speak english or are not native speakers are not familiar with sarcasm and will not understand.
there are plenty of europeans in england and elsewhere who do understand sarcasm. hell, there's a word in the english language for it, right?
