Today i called some places where they offered jobs and i decided i would put on a fake accent. My normal english speaking is semi-ok..but i have a mexican spanish accent and i'm bad at speaking. But for some reason i feel better and more confident if i put on a fake accent. My fake accent is just the spanish accent BUT i make it extra thick and funny... kind of like APU of The simpsons. I called companies today and asked about the jobs they offered using this accent.. Is this ok to do? And if i were to get the job, should i continue doing it,,, but what if they catch me with my regular voice? well i just do this accent cause it gives me confidence... i don't have confidence with my regular voice because quite a bit of discrimination i've felt from many people. I love my regular voice..just that, companies are so damn discriminatory if you're a hispanic employee.. so i rather make a funny accent

hmm... there is such a risk of being caught. Plus if you made friends or something you would have to keep talking that way to them too. If I were you i wouldn't hide my true self. If you feel that you are really being discriminated there are laws, and there are places you can call and report employers who wouldnot hire because fo descrimination

The accent doesn't make anyone great. Being honest with yourself and others is always better than being embarrassed for faking. You should know that your worth isn't enveloped in your appearance, style, accent, job, possessions and the like. It is in your person, the character that you possess and the relationships that you build. Being truthful and honest is a part of character and there will always be people who appreciate this. God will bless such people.

If you don't get hired on as you. If you know what I mean, You surely will be miserable in a very short amount of time. Have more faith in yourself.
Most companies look at your work experience and ability's. Not your accent!

No, and eventually somebody will discover you are a poser. You have to work long hours and eventually one day you can get tired and you will be yourself.
It is better that they hire you for yourself.
It happens the same with relationships, you can't keep a girlfriend if you lie and you are not yourself, because finally you get caught.

No! For crying out loud, no. You'll get caught and that will make things worse.

If you don't like the way your voice sounds and want to improve it, find a voice coach. That should help.
