what percentage of men/women who are raped when they're younger do you think turn out gay/lesbian when they're older? Sorry, its an honest question....like a good example would be the catholic preist that rapes little boys. how many of the little boys do you think grow up and turn gay?

i heard that when someone gets molested when they're young sometimes grow up and repeat the the same thing that happened to them to other kids the same way.

I know serveral women who were raped and turned lesbian,but not that many guys I have know to turn gay,don't know why except,the desire to be normal presisted.

If that were the case then there would be A LOT more gay and lesbian people. Rape and molestation is pretty common. IMO you are born with your sexual preferences, it's not something you choose, it's just what you are. whether that be gay or straight you have about as much control over that as the color of your eyes. It's nature not nurture.

I don't think sexual abuse is a "turn gay" factor; I think it messes you up. I think gay is from the crib, way before you have a knowledge of gender.
I'm not gay, but I've worked in retail 30 years and have have heard plenty of "coming out of the closet" stories.
I do know 2 people sexually abused as children, a male and a female, both straight and emotional unable to have a relationship; tragic. They are both kind and gentle, but filled with anger and regret ; tragic.

Maybe a small percentage because maybe they did not come to terms with what happened. But really, I don't think everyone turns out that way. That's just speculating. Just look at Oprah Winfrey and Tom Arnold. Silly examples but both were mollested and both are not gay.

You work on the assumption that there is a link between homosexuality and pedophilia. Most pedophiles are actually heterosexual and preponderately male; your scenario would only apply to those pedophiles who molest boys, who in turn grow up to molest other children in turn. It does not address girls, so far as I can tell.
I think you need to go back and analyse what you're asking; it's got some holes in it as written.

I think there must be a lot of women who were rape victims that turned lesbian because it seems that it would instill a fear of men in some of them. That is why they should seek counseling to convince them that they did not asked to be raped.

it really doesn't matter what or when someone is taken advantage of , other than the person who is taken advantage of, if and when that person decides to take advantage of the situation, then who really knows? if the situation at question, is questionable or not? Most people as probably, 100 % would turn out to be murderers, as to be gay.
