Guys- Why do you wear underwear under your bathing suits?? and what kinds do you wear, boxers, boxer briefs, or athletic ones like underarmour??

Wearing underwear is totally up to the individual. Most suits that I've seen are designed with liners so underwear are not needed. My suits have them, so I don't wear anything under them. Whether one wears boxers or briefs will likely depend on the style of the suit. Obviously, you won't wear boxers with a Speedo.
I would suspect those that wear underwear under suits do it for modesty reasons.

I don't. I have seen that done and it is really stupid. The reason guys do that is because they are no longer wearing real bathing suits, they are wearing board shorts (WHICH ARE NOT SWIMWEAR). Real swim suits have underwear built in so there is no need to wear underwear underneath, boardshorts are not meant for swimming and therefore they have no underewear inside. That is why guys tend to wear underwear under board shorts, they just don't know any better. You should not wear undies under your boardshorts because if they are cotton (most are) they will be really uncomfortable when wet and they will take FOREVER to dry.

If you choose to wear something under your bathing suit it is usually a jockey type support brief. It helps to keep the penis and testicles from bouncing around. It keeps them close to the body do nothing hangs out, and if erections occur it keeps them contained and unnoticed. It is called modesty and it is a good thing.

Well, some guys are self concious about how their package looks, and if they think it sticks out a bit to much in their suit, they put on some underwear to make it look better.

It's pointless! Why wear a bathing suit? Why not just underwear then?
And why do so many other guys do it??
