She obviously doesnt have good parenting skills. If she is going to put her newborn in danger of getting HIV's then i would have to say that she is in the wrong.

There's a good chance that the baby will not have HIV. She would have to have a c-section so that the baby doesn't get HIV. well i understand that you think that shes a bad parent to let her child smoke weed and stuff but some people just have to learn on their own the hard way. its only so much that you can say to a person.i know its hard but just sit back and let her make her own mistakes.just be supportive though and give her advice, and try not to get mad but in the end shes going to do what she wants to do regardless of what anyone says. just try to be there for her.

Not necessarily. Persons with HIV have delivered babies who do not have it -- the virus does not get through the placenta. But great care must be taken to manage the pregnancy and delivery to insure that the baby is healthy.

no! there are medications you take during the pregnancy. Then when the baby is born theres meds to prvent later on. then you're all done, no HIV.My sister is HIV positive for 12 years and has 4 healthy babys

i watched a program on tv the other day and there are drugs that can be taken these days to ensure that the baby's chances of contracting HIV are minimised she should do her research beforehand.

I do understand your concern but this is one of those situations that you should really stay out of because as grown adults, they're going to do what they want and it's best for you to focus on your own priories. Just trying to help because i've been in a similar situation.

Definitely the baby will have a chance to have HIV.
It is up to her, if she wants to risk her life and her child's life too..
It is scary...But she has to face it.And she doesnt have to blame
herself..That is what God wants. Just make her life meaningful.
Regards to her & Goodluck

you should research it before you talk to her about it.
no one should be denied the right to parenting...maybe they should look into adoption....but who will take care of the kid when they get too sick to?
Tell them to be foster parents :)
