I just had my baby at age 30. I don't think that that is too old. You need to be financially secure in your marriage, life, and financially before you even think about children. For me, it took that long to do. Some people start in their late teens or early 20's and never catch up in life...they are always broke or always in some kind of hardship. If I had to do it over again, I would wait until I was out of my twenties to start a family. Good Luck!

My mom was 27 1/2 when she had me....I was 23 when I had my first child. I wanted to be done by 30 with childbirth, so I started a little earlier.
I don't think there is any "right time". There are advantage anddisadvantages to both. My mom got to live it up more, but it also took her a lot longer to get pregnant than it did me. I had a healthy, great pregnancy, but plenty of people said I missed out on being young and single--because at 22 I was married and a year later, a mother all while going to grad school. Was it perfect? No....not for me or my mom. Would either of us change it? No, I had the baby I was met to have (I thank God for him everyday!) and thankfully, my mom had me. I think ultimately it works out the way it should.

My mother was 20 and i am having my first one now at 31 - that is not too old. i was still working, travelling and going out in my twenties, enjoying my freedom and spending all the money i was earning having fun. You have the rest of your life to have responsibilities and i am content at 31 that i have not missed out on any of the good things your 20's can offer.
