I have hundreds of songs loaded on my laptop - in windows media player - I just bought an Apple IPOD and want to download some of the songs onto it - is there anything special i'm supposed to do to make it work correctly?

Nothing special, basically you only have to install iTunes [comes with the iPod or you can download from Apple's website]. Then all you have to do is add your songs into your iTunes library by opening this menu: File> Add Folder to Library. It's true that .wma files aren't compatible with iPod but they will convert them automatically for you. After your library is built, you can synchronise your iPod with it. Voìla!

I don't think Media Player and iPods are compatible. You can get iTunes (free) or other software to transfer the music to you pod.

if you got the songs from a cd you cant transfer it but if it is an mp3 you need a card reader and just copy/cut the song and paste it in the ipod

an itunes cd comes wit the ipod when u purchase it.

dl itunes and apply it, and to load data to your ipod only itunes can do it.
