This is the first month I have taken Yasmin. My friends and other people I know that have taken Yasmin all claim the right away they got shorter lighter periods. I got my period and it's heavy! I've had it for two days now. Is it going to be heavy the first days and then get lighter? Or do I have to wait longer like two or three more months to see the effects of Yasmin?

As with any form of birth control, results are not always immediate. I would suggest waiting another month or two before you start worrying about it. If it is still a problem in a few months, go see your doctor.

It's your first month. Heavy bleeding can be expected for the first use of birth control pills.
Give it another month and see. If nothing happens, ask to use Alesse. That's what I use and I went from 5 days, to 3

You need to be on it a few months before your body really gets used to it. Or, you may be that small percentage that it doesn';t work well with. Everyone has different levels of hormones therefore requires different dosages, birth control brands, etc. If it's not right for you, find one that is.

i´ve been using it for six months now, my period has always been lighter.. don´t know what to tell you... why don´t you wait another month? otherwise, ask you doctor
