Start by doing basic multiplication: 4 x 0 =0 so bring down the 0, 4x5=20 so bring down the 0 and carry the 2, 4x3 =12 then add 2 = 14 so bring down the 4 and carry the 1, 4x2 =8 then add the 1 =9 so bring down the 9. Now remember to indent one space for the second multipliers: 0x anything =0. Indent one space for the next multipliers: 3x0 = 0 so bring down the 0, 3x5 = 15 so bring down the 5 and carry the 1, 3x3=9 then add 1 = 10, so bring down the 0 and carry the 1, 3x2 = 6 then add 1 = 7, so bring down the 7. If done properly you should end up with 714400. Now just count (from right to left) the number of spaces the decimal is located: in the first row it is over 2 spaces, and in the second row it is over 2 spaces for a total of 4 spaces. So, count over 4 spaces in your answer and that is where the decimal goes: 71.4400 or 71.44 Hope this helps.

Do your multiplication like normal without the decimal points... You'd get 714400, then you got four places after decimal points, so count four places over from the right to get 71.44... Hope this helps! :-)
