how would you get people to invest in your company that you are trying to start?

I would have my investors lined up with me at the time I incorporated. So all stock owners would begin ownership at the same time and at the same stock price.

I wouldn't start a corporatio with LISTED stocks on an exchange -- that is an expensive way to raise money that I would only use for a very successful on-going business or a new business begun by a remarkably successful businessman.

If you go to yahoo! home page under small business they have a pretty good guide on how to do this if it is what will be the best thing for you. But the quick answer is to have people buy your stock ingreat quantities on the open market you would have to have an IPO which is short for Initial Public Offering. That is what they are talking about when they say a company went public. Again see yahoo! small business, then an attorney and a cpa(certified public accountant)and choose a brokerage firm for the IPO and hope they want you?
