Yep- it is also referred to as false labor because women often confuse it with that.

Classic Braxton-Hicks. The pattern you describe is very normal and very common. In the last couple of weeks before labour, the tightenings can happen very frequently---the uterus is just getting ready for it's big job.
When actual labour starts, the contractions will have some pain/discomfort along with the tight feeling. It might be a lower back ache, or a feeling of strong menstrual cramps.

Braxton Hicks are slightly painful. You will feel more of the tightening of your abdominal muscles than the pain. I these for about four months before my son son was born.

What you need to look out for is back pain, mucus discharge from the vagina and vaginal bleeding. Then again, all women are different and all pregnancies are different. If you are not sure what it is, talk to your doctor and get examined.

It can be very painful or uncomfortable. I have heard of ladies who have actual went into real labour and felt nothing till it was time to push. Now that would be kinda nice to a certain point. Having a baby and just popping the child out without feeling the pain of delivery.

Braxton Hicks don't generally hurt. They are your body getting ready for the real thing. Real contractions hurt like crazy. Trust me you will know the real thign when it happens.

It could be braxton hicks or it could be your body getting ready for that baby. Our bodies do strange things when we're pregnant.

Congratulations!!!!!

Not like full blown "We are ready " contractions. I had them every evening for 30 days before I had my son.
