I am having trouble. i put it in the calculator and i get a different answer on paper i get 7.99

u need to remove the decimal points and do the maths like a normal long multiplication problem

when u do this u then count the number of decimal places in the sum 23.50 has 2 and 3.04 also has 2 so that is 4. so u count 4 decimal places from ur right and ur answer should be 71.44 or 71.4400

it cant not be 7.99, think about it.
The way to think is to make it easy for yourself, lets assume the 23.5 is just 23, and the 3.04 is just 3.0.
Now you have no problem thinking about 3 times 23, which is 69. So the correct answer must be a little bit bigger then 69. So your calculator is correct.
Just remember, before you do the math, stop and think about it 1st, try to approx. the answer, that way you will not be suprise.
