If Israel is looking for terrorists, do they have to bomb a country?
It's like blowing a house because there is a mouse inside.

What do I have to defend Israel? American weapons.

Seriously though, I was raised a Jew, am now agnostic leaning towards athiesm, but here is my opinion.

Both Israel and each other country in that area hate each other's guts, hating Israel as much if not less than their neighbors (the Islamic states are far from united, they all have their own religious differences that have made them enemies since long before Israel was placed there), If they had America's backing like Israel does, they would do the exact same thing. They would have wanted, been itching to, annihilate their enemies, and as soon as they thought they could do it before the world came down on their heads, they would.

Hence, Israel has no more brutal intent than any other government or radical group there. Most of the radical groups there would do even worse.

Regardless, I do not agree with Israel's actions, while at the same time I have no general hate for all Jews or all Israelites, like the ignorant followers that lack any brainpower to form their own opinions and borrow that of other followers. I try not to model myself after clinical mental retards, I do not want to get drool on my shirt. Instead I understand that many of these people are stuck between their governments' leader's motivations, deaths of friends and family from radical groups, and American "backing" (cough**propaganda**cough), they are forced into supporting their government.

Well most are, the rest may just be bloodthirsty killers of innocents, in deed or intent, it makes little difference.

It was inevitable with all the hate, rage, and old feuds in this area of the world. Better now than later. I hope the rest of the world has the presence of mind not to turn this into a world war, or anyone, government or radical group on either side, has the presence of mind to not use a nuclear device. I would lose quite a bit of faith in a lot of things if that happened, and would be somewhat depressed for awhile. A nuke in the fertile crescent, the cradle of civilization. I would be beyond disgusted with the hemisphere, at the very least. The species at most.

Please Israel, do not use your nukes. It isn't worth screwing up the area radioactively, nor waving the flag for everyone else to do it. Then, we would have wished for a world war, but instead wouldn't even have the world to do the war in.

Because Israel has no respect for the UN and will do whatever it pleases whenever it pleases. All people want to do is say "Poor Israel. Those horrible Hezbollah are attacking it again." But it seems that nobody is willing to consider the sins of Israel. If people were willing to open their eyes and their minds for a change they would see that Israel is far from innocent. Their hands are smeared with blood.

I've said this many times already: no matter what the UN decides, no matter how the world protests, no one have the right to tell Israel what to do.

Whatever Israel need to do to secure the country's peace and security for its people, Israel will do. Israel do not need any country, any one to defend its actions. The hypocrisy of the world do not dictate how Israel should act.

Surely you are not as simple as you sound. You go live in Israel and be bombarded by Lebanon for a few months, then tell me what you would do. Lebanon started this war, and is now screaming, "save me...they are so bad to me." What would you have said had there been a UN and they told us to stop bombing Japan in WW II? Hmmmmm. And as for the silly response above that runs on forever, there is a fool born every minute, he took three places on the tree. I am neither Liberal nor Conservative..neither Democrat nor Republican. But as for responses like "Heroic Liberal" gives, I am not sure if it is tongue in cheek or not, but I am quite sure that I need neither food stamps nor welfare...and in fact, could probably buy him and his entire estate and have enough left over to continue my life very well. He equates Liberal with god knows what....somewhat confused man.

They are simply defending themselves. I don't think they have an agenda to kill the red cross or U.N. workers. Just because the U.N. passed a resolution doesn't mean Hezbollah will stop.

The resolution hasn't even been voted on.. There is no cease fire.. Israel is taking care of business so this never happens again.
