By mi impression both of them are very equally in performance. Intel works better with multimedia works, but AMD gets greater performance with the Office components. Playing is more or less the same, with games working better in one, and others in the other.

By cost per performance AMD wins.

In that range get the AMD Athlon64 3200. It's equivalent if not better performancewise in some apps and price is a lot cheaper. Even without using the 64-bit support, it is still the better deal.

The 64-bit capability will not be utilized at all unless you have a 64-bit x64 version of Windows XP.

In my opinion, 64-bit isn't worth it yet unless you got the apps that can benefit from it. I am running Windows XP Professional (32-bit) on an AMD64FX CPU and it runs great but if you had to get a new Windows now, I'd go for the Windows XP Media Center Edition (also 32-bit) over x64.

The AMD'll be better, since it's 64-bit and can handle more data. However, you need at least 4 gigs of ram and a 64-bit operating system such as Windows XP Professional x64 or a 64-bit Linux distribution to be able to fully appreciate it. If you don't have 4 gigs of ram, they'll probably perform about the same.

AMD Turion sixty 4 is the cellular processor version of AMD Athlon sixty 4 and the two use the sixty 4 bit technologies. the are greater perfect than Intel celeron so i think of you need to purchase the AND Turion sixty 4 processor. the cellular technologies enables your laptop to apply much less skill while the processor isn't working at optimal(so your battery will stay charged longer).

Both are excellent, but I'd go with the AMD one. Heckovalot cheaper than Intel. AMDs are claimed to run hotter than Intel, but unless you are a gamer, the heatsink on the AMD should be fine.
