I believe he was just trying to keep some semblance of normalcy for the children. Think of how it would have affected the children if he just jumped up and ran out. By setting the example of not panicing, others just might follow.

Yes. All of the things the Republicans here today are saying are correct.

Staying there in front of them reading "My Pet Goat" UPSIDE-DOWN must have been very comforting to the little tykes.

Maybe we should all take up reading upside down to our children. That way, in one generation everything here won't only be backwards, it will be backwards and upside-down.

I know it made me feel better knowing the leader of the free world does not recognize whether the letters of the alphabet are right-side up on the written page. Comfort. Yeah. That's the word.

He must have had alot of time on his hands to be reading books to little children in school. I don't hate Bush (like some people in this forum), but when I first saw him on tv that day...I thought...what the....doesn't he have better things to do with his time? Let Laura Bush read to school children.

As much as I don't like Bush, he kept on reading to children to show that America would prevail and we would be all right. He did show signs of a good president on that day. IF that makes any sense...

He was not panic. He is devoting his full energies to the issue. We may not like his style but there is no doubt he is using his full energy to address the issue. The issue is complicated because revengeful people have also resources. These people have lost power of reasoning.

Didn't want to cause panic. For those that criticize him for that decision. Can you point to how that action hurt us. Not using wacko conspiracy theories but facts.
