A monarchy is a succession of related rulers, however those rulers are not VOTED into office as is the case in the U.S. I hope this question is a joke or this country is in big trouble.

in a monarch, the leader usually stays the leader for life. power is passed down to children/family of the leader. citizens are held "captive" to the decisions of the monarch.
in republics (like united states) the president is elected for a short term then leaves office. if you don't like the way the current president is running the country vote for a different political party in 2008.

I would guess that this will open the "Al Gore really won" flood gates, but get over it. Even the Liberal rags the New York Post and L.A. Times said that Bush did actually win so don't start that one.
