It may not always be greed. Sometimes someone is insecure about how much money they'll have for how long or if something will happen to make them need their money. Sometimes a person isn't greedy, but just doesn't want to share with a particular other person. The same person may be very generous with someone else. Sometimes its about how the other person wants to use something like money. Some people believe things like that giving kids too much isn't good, so they may withhold money or stuff just because they think they're doing the best thing.

Apparent stinginess may actually just be a symptom of any number of other things a person has going on. Greed's a possibility, but I think more often there are other things going on.

Greed causes stinginess. The more ya get, the more ya want.

they both revolve around each other so regardless which one comes first you know the other one is coming. it depends on the person and how they are to which one comes first
