A normal period should last anywhere from three days to nine days. It also depends on how long you have the heaviest bleeding. If you are bleeding heavy for more than five days, that is probably too long. Taking over the counter naproxim sodium ALEVE will lessen the bleeding and help with cramps. Birth control pills will also help, and shorten your overall periods.

5 days is the average, but they can be up to a week long.

Mine usually last anywhere from 5to 7 days
but i just gootten mine so i wouldn't really know :-)
